Whew.  This week has just been nuts for me.  On top of being crazy busy with work, etc., I had my wisdom teeth removed on Thursday, which knocked me on my butt a little harder than I thought it would.  No worries, I'm recovering pretty quickly, but I'm definitely getting a little cranky about having to be careful about what I eat.

I didn't realize I'd be posting a repeat of this skirt right after a post in which I'm wearing this skirt, but so it goes.  (You guys, there were 11 days in between these two posts--though to be honest, I'm sure I wore it again & forgot to photograph it somewhere in there as well.)  Anyway, this skirt's a definite favorite so get ready to see a lot of it this winter.  The main reason for this outfit was that I wanted to wear my new multi-strand necklace (which I have decided I LOVE), and I thought it would look nice against this top.

Happy Halloween, everybody!

I know, I know.  I'm been MIA again.  Seriously, I've been so busy I can hardly keep up.  I promise I haven't forgotten about you guys.  I really want to have time to blog regularly again...I'm trying, really I am!

So here's an outfit I wore to work a couple of weeks ago.  We're slowly making the transition to fall weather here in Maryland (as in it will be really chilly one day, then 70 degrees the next).  Since the weather's been so unpredictable, I've mostly been relying on layers, but I wore a short-sleeved turtleneck and a wool skirt to work on this particular day.  This is really the only time of year that a short-sleeved turtleneck could possibly make sense.  I love how this one has a little tie-neck detail happening as well.  This outfit was light enough that I didn't get too hot in the middle of the day, but cozy enough (sweater, wool skirt) that I stayed warm enough in the morning and evening too.

Hope everybody has a good week!

This outfit was my answer to a gloomy, rainy day.  Everything was so gray out, so I wanted to add a little punch of color and fun.  Enter acid yellow cardigan.  I really love this cardigan--at $7, I couldn't pass it up.  It's cozy and can also be worn a little slouchy.  Side note: I want to invest in a pair of wellies.

Hope you guys had a good weekend!

I wore this very corporate outfit for a very specific reason.  I had to have my photo taken for some of our marketing material and whatnot, so looking the part of a financial professional was key.  As you see, I do always dress up somewhat for work, but I don't always wear a matching suit unless I have a big meeting or event.  Getting dressed in the morning would be extremely easy if I wore matching suit pieces all the time, but I'd get pretty bored if the only thing that ever changed in my outfits was my shirt!  Wearing a dark suit was recommended, so I wore my black one since I had just worn my charcoal suit the day before.  It's far too easy for me to look washed out in photos since I have the fair skin/dark hair combo, so I wanted to add a little color and dimension to my outfit and this dark pink silk shirt fit the bill.  I chose to wear a collared shirt to keep color near my face and threw on a favorite necklace to add interest.  I'm interested to see how my picture turns out...

You guys, I've been crazy busy lately, and to be honest, a little overwhelmed.  So, as you may have noticed, my posts have been infrequent at best.  I hope things will slow down soon, but I'm sure to stay super-busy until at least the end of next week (if I can make it til then!).

I wore this very safe outfit to an important work meeting I had last Tuesday.  In retrospect, I wish I had worn something more interesting, but at the time, I wanted to be comfortable and I wanted to be sure I wouldn't be fidgeting with my outfit all the time.  Clearly, I didn't make much of a statement with this, and I think I should have shown my personality a bit more.  Noted for next time.  :)

Women Can't Catch a Break on What to Wear

Hey, ladies--Here's a link I found over on The New Professional regarding how your career can be affected by what you wear to work.  I found it really interesting and thought I'd share.  Also, if you're a young professional and you're not already reading Angeline's blog, you should!

Since it still wasn't quite cool enough to completely dress for fall, I thought I'd make my outfit feel a little more like fall by dressing in autumn-inspired colors.  I paired a burnt orange half-sleeved sweater with a textured brown-ish skirt and finished off the look with my usual brown shoes and gold earrings and a bracelet.

Hope you guys have a good weekend!
