{wish list} kohl's shoes

Kohl's has stepped up its shoe offering lately, and I've been pretty impressed.  Here are a few styles I'd love to add to my closet.  The best part?  Each pair is on sale!

My favorites are the wedges -- how cute would they be with a flowy summer dress? -- and the ballet flats.  However, the black peep-toes are very close!  The style of the embellished sandals is usually a bit too sweet for my taste with the little rosettes, but these rosettes are studded which toughens them up some. 

So go shop the sale!  Just don't buy any of these in my size.  ;)

crayola color

Overall, this ended up being a lot of black to wear all at once but I do like how the gold-orange really pops.  (There's probably an actual name for this color besides "gold-orange" but that's the only name that's coming to mind as I stare at the above photo trying to figure it out.  What's the Crayola crayon name for this?  Goldenrod or something?  Some reference the Pantone color chart, I reference kindergarten.  And I digress...)  In summary (of what, I don't know) this ensemble was professional yet comfortable and so simple to throw together.

Friends, I very much want this Wishing Nugget Bracelet ($39).  It seems like the perfect summery piece to layer up with several other bracelets, an easy tank and a breezy skirt.  Since high school, I've had a bit of a weakness for turquoise even though I actually have very little turquoise in my jewelry collection.  Plus, I love how this bracelet combines turquoise and wood with a little sparkle which seems unexpected.  Love!

As the weather warms up a bit, my thoughts are turning to warmer dressing and I can't help but think how amazing this Stella & Dot Casablanca Bib Necklace ($89) would be paired with a simple white tank or a gauzy sundress.  The mixture of wood and glass makes this necklace unique, and the pretty vintage tie adds a special touch.

Would you look at my nutty dog?  What the heck was he doing in the curtain?!  Ernie's antics really never end.  Well, except for right now--he's snuggled up next to me sleeping while I do a little blogging.  My little buddy.  :)

When I am in a serious hurry in the morning because I wanted an extra 15 minutes of sleep, I over-coordinate my outfit.  Black on black on black on black seems like a great idea when all you're trying to do is reach for something that goes together and doesn't need to be ironed.  At least I added a fun necklace?

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the weekend.  And I've been ready since Tuesday.  Let's get through the rest of the week quickly, shall we?

You guys, I'm in love with this Nugget Wrap Bracelet.  I just ordered it in silver, and I'm already wishing I had the gold one too.  I plan to layer it up with loads of other bracelets--some of which are also on their way to my door!

{FBFF} beauty products

This week, FBFF is about beauty products--the best, the worst, the ones we can't live without.  I don't think this is a topic I've covered much here before, so I'm excited to share!

1. What's your favorite drug store makeup product and your favorite higher-end product?

Drug Store: Hmm, tough choice but I'll have to choose Almay Intense i-Color Eyeliner in Black.  It goes on so smooth and really stays put all day.

Higher-End: To be honest, I don't really use a whole lot of high end beauty products any more.  With all the great drug store options out there these days, I just can't always justify the extra cost.  That being said, my absolute favorite makeup product of all time is the Lancome Photogenic concealer in Ivoire.  It has the best texture...goes on slightly creamy, but somehow morphs into a matte miracle product that diverts light from imperfections and matches your skin tone perfectly.  Before you get too excited, I should tell you--it has recently been discontinued.  (Doesn't that happen to all the great makeup products?)

2. Is there one type of product that is your go-to, can't live without?

Specifically, my go-to was the Lancome concealer mentioned above.  Generally, I'd say my go-to is a great concealer that can be worn without foundation if necessary!

This is the last of my leftover outfits from August.  I wasn't crazy about this...I'm pretty sure it was the result of a hurried morning ritual on a day when I just wanted to be comfortable.  At least I added the bright color to my otherwise black outfit!  Now that I'm looking at these photos, I think it would have looked much better if I had tucked my shirt in.  Noted.
